Minnesota Swarm Acquires G Matt Disher and D Teddy Jenner From Anaheim

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill announced today that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) club has acquired goaltender Matt Disher and defenseman Teddy Jenner from the Anaheim Storm in exchange for Cam Bergman, Shawn Cable, Rory Graham and Matt King.

Disher, 28 (7/10/76), posted a record of 1-9 with a 13.26 goals against average (GAA) and a .741 save percentage in 12 games in net for Anaheim last season. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound native of Hagersville, Ontario has a career 14.30 GAA and a .741 save percentage in 68 career NLL contests during six seasons with Buffalo, Ottawa and Anaheim. Disher has also tallied 30 assists and 333 loose balls. He was named an NLL Second Team All-Star following the 2003 season, the Western Lacrosse Association's (WLA) League MVP in 1999 and 2001 and the WLA's Top Goalie in 1998, 1999 and 2001. Disher was originally selected by Anaheim with its first pick in the 2003 Ottawa Dispersal Draft.

Jenner, 25 (7/23/79), recorded nine points (4-5=9) and 36 loose balls in 10 contests with Anaheim last season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Vancouver, British Columbia has tallied 26 points (12-14=26) and 75 loose balls in 22 career NLL contests during three seasons with Rochester and Anaheim. Jenner was a member of the 2003 Mann Cup champion Victoria Shamrocks and Canada's Under-19 National Field Champion team. He was originally selected by the Rochester Knighthawks in the first round (11th overall) of the 2001 NLL Entry Draft from Mercyhurst College.

Cable and Graham were acquired in a trade with Colorado on October 20. Minnesota selected Bergman from Anaheim and King from Calgary in the Expansion Draft on October 19.

The Swarm will continue to build its roster via the 2004 NLL Entry Draft and the signing of free agents. The Entry Draft will be held tonight at 7:00 PM via conference call. The team will begin play in the NLL's Eastern Division this January.
