Minnesota United FC News Release
BLAINE, Minn. (Sept. 26, 2011) - The Minnesota Stars announced details for playoff ticket presales Monday. The team qualified for the North American Soccer League postseason Saturday night with a 2-1 road win against the regular season champion Carolina RailHawks, claiming the league's No. 6 seed.
The Stars face a road game in FC Tampa Bay this Saturday in a single-elimination game to open the playoffs. If the Stars win in Tampa Bay and advance from the opening round, they would host the RailHawks Saturday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at NSC Stadium to open the league semifinals, which are played in a home-and-home, total goals series.
"We're excited as a club to have made the playoffs, and we want to take advantage of the next two weeks to build excitement around this team," Stars CEO Djorn Buchholz said. "We realize there's a risk involved in selling tickets to a game that's not certain, but we felt that beginning that process early gives us the best opportunity to build a home-field advantage for the Stars should they progress."
Tickets go on sale Monday morning at 10 at regular season ticket prices. Pre-ordered general admission tickets are $6 for youth under age 17 and $12 for adults, reserved seats with chairbacks are $17, and pitch-side seats are $25. The team is also offering four-packs of adult general admission seats for $40 and a family four-pack with two adult and two youth general admission seats for $30.
Should the Stars fall against FC Tampa Bay and fail to advance, ticket buyers will be credited with their purchase price toward 2012 season or single-game tickets. Tickets are on sale by calling the Stars ticket office at (763) 792-7355 or visiting NSCMinnesota.com.
