January 22, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
The Milwaukee Wave will bring home their second loss of the season after a tough battle on the road Monday night against the Orlando SeaWolves at the Silver Spurs Arena.
The Wave fell short to the SeaWolves with a final score of 4-7.
"Offensively we struggled to execute throughout the game," said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We created some very good opportunities tonight, we just couldn't always finish them off."
The first quarter of the game finished scoreless on both sides. Milwaukee Wave forward #26 Ian Bennett broke the silence to score the first goal of the game in the second quarter. The SeaWolves responded quickly scoring two goals of their own, with the halftime score being 1-2. The third quarter wrapped up with a 3-3 tie, with both teams holding strong defensively. An intense fourth quarter brought the final score 4-7, with the SeaWolves taking the victory.
"Overall, I know the players aren't happy with tonight's result," said Oliviero. "I think we just need to regroup after this loss as a team, and prepare for Mississauga on Saturday."
The Milwaukee Wave will be back at home this Saturday, January 26th to take on the Mississauga MetroStars at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05pm CST / Milwaukee time.
