Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Wave avenged their first loss of the season (to Baltimore on Friday) with a 7-6 overtime victory in Baltimore tonight. Milwaukee emerged with the victory in a game that saw five lead changes when Todd Dusosky scored the game winner 32 seconds into overtime. The win keeps the Wave in first place at 9-1.

Less than a minute into the game, Eduardo Sebrango sent the Wave off to a 1-0 lead. Baltimore stormed back with three unanswered goals to lead 3-1 after one quarter. Milwaukee responded with three unanswered goals of their own in the second quarter as Greg Howes, Matt Schmidt and Marcelo Fontana gave the Wave a 4-3 halftime lead.

Baltimore refused to go away and scored two early third quarter goals to regain the lead at 5-4. Milwaukee defenders, Jonathan Greenfield and Chad Dombrowski, came back with goals in the closing minutes of the quarter to put the Wave up 6-5 entering the fourth quarter.

Both squads had fourth quarter scoring opportunities, but the lone goal came from Baltimore's David Bascome with just under five minutes remaining in regulation. Milwaukee had a chance to win in regulation on a power play, but Baltimore's second ranked penalty killing group kept the Wave off the board to force overtime. Just as he did in Milwaukee's other overtime game this season, Todd Dusosky scored to deliver the win for the Wave and Brian Rowland, who made his first start in goal as a member of the Wave.

The Wave returns to Milwaukee on Friday for a game against the St. Louis Steamers. The Steamers have won seven consecutive games since losing to the wave 6-5 in overtime on December 3. All Wave games are broadcast on The Joy, 1340 AM and can be heard via webcast at www.MilwaukeeWave.com. Tickets for all Wave home games ($12, $14, $16, and $20) can be purchased by calling 414-224-WAVE. Wave tickets are also available at all Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com.
