
Mill Rats Win Streak Stopped in Halifax

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats 5-game win streak was stopped in Halifax, 119-115, at the hands of the Halifax Rainmen.
Saint John got off to a very poor start and fell behind by 15 points in the first quarter. Tyrone Levett's three pointer at the buzzer cut the deficit to 32-20 after one.
In the second quarter the Mill Rats roared back and tied the game 54-54 by the intermission.
Once again the Rainmen built a 15 point lead, this time in the fourth quarter with 10 minutes left. Saint John got hot from the three point line and managed to cut the deficit to 111-108 on a Jamie Vanderbeken three point late. Halifax managed to keep the lead and hold on the for the win.
Darin Mency and Kenny Jones led Saint John with 22 points each, Raheem Singleton and Tyrone Levett 12 each, and Jeremy Williams and Johnny Mayhane 11 each. Kevin Young led Halifax with 22.
Saint John falls to 12-14 while Halifax improves to 11-12.
The Mill Rats next game is February 5th at Harbour Station against the Brampton A's.
