Mill Rats Post Third Straight Win

Oshawa, ON - The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, posted their third straight win, shutting down the Oshawa Power, 116-109, before a raucous crowd of over 5,000 fans in Oshawa.

The Mill Rats were firing on all cylinders as they leapt on the home team from the outset and pulled to a 58-37 halftime lead.

Saint John extended their lead to as many as twenty-five points at 92-67, with 10:03 remaining in the game. The Oshawa Power staged a furious rally as the Mill Rats essentially played 'keep away' the rest of the quarter en route to the win.

The game featured the debut of 6'8 guard-forward Andrew Francis for Saint John. Francis displayed his tremendous athleticism with several dunks including a two-handed alley oop slam off a feed from Darren Duncan in the second half. Francis finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Duncan lead the Mill Rats with 31 points, Kevin Francis also chipped in 18 points, Antonio Burks 13, PJ Young 10, and Courtland Bluford 10. Brandon Robinson for Oshawa lead all scorers 34 points.

Saint John improves to 12-13 on the season while the Power drops to 8-18.

The Mill Rats stay in Ontario until Sunday when they head to London to face the London Lightning.
