Lightning Taken out by Miracles
January 26, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
London Lightning News Release
At the two ends of the NBL Canada standings reside the Moncton Miracles and the first place London Lightning. Tonight, at the Moncton Coliseum the Lightning didn't play like the top team, coming up short to the Miracles, 98-91.
"We went into this game thinking about the next," emphasized Lightning Coach Michael Ray Richardson. "It was a complete mental breakdown. It's just one game but we will have to go into tomorrow ready to play."
The Lightning weren't able to stop the combined team effort by Moncton, whose 5 of 7 players who saw the court ended in double figures. London's star, Gabe Freeman, was fouled out of the game in the midst of the 4th quarter, walking out with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
The rest of the week gets interesting for the Lightning. They travel to Halifax for a game tomorrow night and host fourth place Saint John on Sunday at 2pm. Both games could be post season previews.
