
MiLB President Pat O'Conner to Honor CF Dalton Pompey with Gold Glove Award Thursday

DUNEDIN, FL - Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O'Conner will be in attendance at the Dunedin Blue Jays game on Thursday, April 24 at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium to present CF Dalton Pompey with his 2013 Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
As part of the pregame proceedings, President O'Conner will honor Pompey as the best defensive center fielder in minor league baseball during the 2013 season, making Pompey one of just nine players to receive the honor.
MLB.com ranked Pompey as the No. 16 prospect in the Blue Jays organization after he posted a perfect fielding percentage with eight outfield assists as a member of the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts in 2013.
Thus far with the Dunedin Blue Jays in 2014, Pompey is hitting .348 with six RBIs, six stolen bases, and currently has a six-game hitting streak. Five players who were honored last year, Adam Warren (Yankees), Josh Phegley (White Sox), Derrick Robinson (Reds), Engel Beltre (Rangers) and Marcell Ozuna (Marlins) are in the major leagues.
President O'Conner will be available to any newspaper writers, radio or TV reporters for live or recorded interviews. He is also scheduled to make a brief guest appearance on the Dunedin Blue Jays Radio Network, which streams live on DunedinBlueJays.com.
