CURVE, PA - Right-hander Mike Burrows has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 29, 2022.

Burrows made one start last week, earning the win on Thursday night at Harrisburg. In a career-long 7.0 innings, Burrows allowed two hits, one walk, and struck out a season-high eight in a 5-2 victory for the Curve. Thursday's outing was the longest this season by an Altoona starter and improved Burrows' record to 3-0. He has allowed two or less runs in eight of his nine starts this season.

Entering play on Tuesday, the 22-year-old right-hander stands at first in the Eastern League with a 1.90 ERA. He also ranks first in batting average against (.166), second in WHIP (0.87), and tied for sixth in strikeouts (54) in the Eastern League.

Erie's Kerry Carpenter was named the Eastern League Player of the Week. Burrows is the first Altoona pitcher to earn Pitcher of the Week honors since Roansy Contreras was named the Double-A Northeast League Pitcher of the Week on May 23, 2021.

Burrows is slated to make his 10th start of the season on Wednesday night when the Curve continue a six-game series with the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
