Racing Louisville FC News Release
Racing Louisville FC has waived Noelle Higginson, it was announced Friday, as the midfielder leaves to pursue a law degree this fall.
Already a Yale University graduate, Higginson is enrolling at New York University to continue her studies.
The New Orleans native earned her Racing contract out of a successful preseason trial but was limited once the season began due to injury.
Higginson - a 2020 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee for her athletic performance, academic achievement, service, and leadership - arrived to Louisville having numbered 14 goals and 11 assists during her collegiate career.
"We want to thank Noelle for her commitment to the club," said Racing coach Christy Holly. "She was important as we built the foundation of who we want to be in the NWSL. We're delighted she'll be able to purse her career, and we wish her all the best at law school."
