Midfielder Gabriel Torres Returning to Hartford Athletic in 2021

HARTFORD, Conn. - Midfielder Gabriel Torres will be returning to Hartford for the 2021 season.

"I am very excited to be able to continue my career in Hartford in front of the best fans in the world," Torres said. "I want to thank the Hartford Athletic for giving me the opportunity to return to build on a successful season in 2020, and I look forward to making a deep run in the playoffs in 2021."

Torres, who played mostly left wingback in Radhi Jaïdi's 3-5-2 system, recorded two goals and two assists in 881 minutes of action in 2020. He was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week twice. In Week 5, he had a goal, an assist and six key passes in wins over Philadelphia Union II and Loudoun United, and in Week 10, he scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Loudoun United. After the season, he was named the Club's Most Improved Player.

Torres joins fellow midfielder Danny Barrera on the 2021 roster. Other returning players and new player signings will be announced in the coming weeks.
