Midfielder Cherif Dieye Signs with Central Valley Fuego FC

FRESNO, Calif. - Central Valley Fuego FC today announced it has signed Cherif Dieye as the club builds its roster for its inaugural 2022 USL League One season. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

A native of Dakar, Senegal, Dieye joins Fuego FC after completing one season with USL Championship side New York Red Bulls II.

"I am really happy to join this team characterized by a great past, and in a city of fútbol," said Dieye. "I would like to thank this team for giving me this opportunity, because to play fútbol is a blessing. To finish, a big thank you to my family and friends and especially my brother. Let's light this Fuego in our fans' hearts. Dale Fuego!"

Collegiately, Dieye competed four seasons for the Louisville Cardinals and recorded 80 appearances and 19 goals. He was named to the 2019 All-ACC Second Team and 2018 ACC Championship All-Tournament Team. Dieye spent two years training with IMG Academy between 2013 and 2015.
