Calgary Vipers News Release
Shutout for a second time this season the Calgary Vipers (11-11) were defeated 1-0 by the Chico Outlaws (8-12) at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, California. Calgary starter Mark Michael (1-2) was terrific despite the loss in tossing six innings while only giving up one run and striking out six batters. Making his first start of the season Jason Stevenson (1-0) was brilliant in not allowing a run in seven and two-third innings. The lone run of the game was scored in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Vipers continue this seven games in five days series in Chico against the Outlaws on Sunday June 19th with a double-header starting at 6:00.
Calgary will return home on Thursday June 23rd at 7:05 to take on the Strong Warriors of Maui.
The Calgary Vipers will be hosting three Women's Pro Fastpitch games between the USAA Pride and the Tennessee Diamonds August 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 6:30 at Foothills Stadium. Tickets are $16 for the Lower Bowl and $12 for the Upper Bowl. Three game packages are also available for $45 and $33. In addition there will be two skill clinics August 2nd and 4th from 10am - 12pm. Cost is $99 for a Clinic and Lunch or $120 for the Clinic, Lunch and two Lower Bowl tickets. There will also be a Lunch Banquet August 3rd including an autograph session with both teams and a lower bowl ticket to the August 3rd game for $49.95 with keynote speaker Cheri Kempf, the Commissioner of the NPF and an ESPN analyst.
