Michael Benedict Named Fine Jewelry Outlet Player of the Month

CORPUS CHRISTI-The Corpus Christi IceRays announced that forward Michael Benedict has received the Fine Jewelry Outlet Player of the Month award for the month of December. Benedict received the award prior to Saturday's game against the Topeka RoadRunners.
In seven games during the month, Benedict scored four goals and had two assists for six points. On December 11th, the Eden, NY native tallied twice as the IceRays defeated Wichita Falls 5-4 (SO) at home. He scored in the shootout as well.
The 19-year old leads the IceRays this season with 18 goals to go along with 11 assists for 29 points.
He was named to the 2010 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament Team Rafalski which was held in Boston earlier this season.
