Miami FC News Release

Miami, Fla. - The Miami Football Club travels north again to take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in Pennsylvania on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Last time out, Miami FC and Pittsburgh Riverhounds drew 2-2 at FIU Stadium after a three-hour weather delay.

Previous Result: Indy Eleven 0-1 Miami FC

The Orange and Blue are coming off a 1-0 away victory against Indy Eleven at Carrol Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., on Saturday.

Wingers Joshua Pérez and Lamar Walker combined for a goal to bring back three points to South Florida. In detail, Walker received a through-ball pass from defender Aedan Stanley and sent a one-time cut-back pass for Pérez to strike first-time past the goalkeeper.

The goal was Pérez's third of the season and his first without his head. The Salvadoran joins three teammates who lead the team in goals; Striker Kyle Murphy, Jamaica's Romeo Parkes, left wing-back Othello Bah and newly acquired winger Joaquín Rivas, who scored all his three goals at Tulsa.

On the other hand, Walker joins teammate Florian Valot at the top of Miami FC's assists list. Both players have created four goals this season.

An MFC backline made up of Stanley, right-back Mark Segbers, center-back Callum Chapman-Page and captain Paco Craig helped the team earn its eighth clean sheet. Moreover, goalkeeper Connor Sparrow's performance on frame cemented Miami's one-goal lead. His block in the 58th minute was the best of the five saves he made on the night.

Miami FC and Indy Eleven arrived at the fixture with the same amount of points and on two-game losing streaks. The worry for Miami going into the road game was Indy's two games in hand. Nonetheless, three points now have Miami FC in seventh place with 24 points.

"Winning brings confidence, so I think the good performance and good result at Indy have obviously created a good buzz and a good mood about the group," said Pulis. "It's important now that we build on the positive momentum."

Connor Sparrow earns Team of the Week honors

Sparrow, who leads the league win clean sheets with seven in 15 appearances, earned Team of the Week honors for his five-save display against the Boys in Blue. Sparrow produced a -1.13 Goals minus Expected Goals mark, helping land MFC in a playoff position - seventh place - in the Eastern Conference.

Additionally, Sparrow's clutch save was nominated for Save of the Week, an award that fans decide the winner of.

Last time out against the Hounds

Miami FC travels again, this time to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at Highmark Stadium. The Hounds stand in fifth place on the Eastern Conference leaderboard, three points ahead of MFC.

The two sides faced off earlier in the season. The game finished in a two-all draw after a three-hour weather delay. Center-back Junior Palacios opened the scoring on May 28. But, Pittsburgh's Russel Cicerone brought the game back level in the 38th minute. Canada's Adonijah Reid scored seconds before the halftime whistle to give Miami a 2-1 lead. Nonetheless, Pittsburgh midfielder Alex Dixon tied the game nine minutes into the second half.
