EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive FC (8-6-6, 30 pts., West-4) is set to host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (12-5-0, 36 pts., West-2) at Southwest University Park on Saturday, July 9. On Saturday night, El Paso Locomotive will celebrate Military Appreciation night, honoring active members of the military, veterans, and their spouses and families. The night will feature $6 Estrella Jaliscos and Chicharrones and will conclude with a post-match firework show for fans in attendance to enjoy.

El Paso Locomotive FC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will meet for the first time in the 2022 USL Championship season this Saturday. The two teams have had incredible success so far this season with Locomotive going into the weekend on a nine-match undefeated streak while Switchbacks enters as second in the Western Conference. El Paso Locomotive comes off the heels of a tight week with a pair of draws with Rio Grande Valley FC and Atlanta United II and a win over New York Red Bulls II. The week of results sees Locomotive continue its rise through the Western Conference as it seeks to cement its fourth straight playoff berth.

While this is the first meeting between these two teams in 2022, it will be the 11th time Locomotive and Switchbacks will meet in the regular season. Throughout 10 meetings, Colorado Springs Switchbacks has never won against El Paso Locomotive. The El Paso side has earned a 5-0-5 record and a +9-goal differential. Most recently, Locomotive had a second half rally to find three goals to win 4-2 over Switchbacks in October last season. Saturday's match is sure to be a spectacle as two of the highest scoring teams in the league clash at Southwest University Park. El Paso Locomotive will be looking to extend its undefeated streak and its incredible run at home while Switchbacks are looking to clean up a rough run of form to maintain Western Conference dominance.
