Miami FC Brings Two New Additions to Technical Staff

Miami, FL - Miami FC head coach, Alessandro Nesta, completes his technical staff for the 2016 NASL season with the addition of Vincenzo Benvenuto and Lorenzo Rubinacci. Benvenuto will be the goalkeeper coach, and Rubinacci will work closely with Nesta as his assistant coach. Both directors bring extensive experience to Miami FC.

"These two directors will play an important role in the development of our team," Nesta said. "We'll be working together to have our team collectively take the first step in the right direction. I'm very confident in their contribution to this team and look forward to working with them as we begin preseason training."

Prior to joining the team, Benvenuto received his degree in Sports Science from the University of Bologna in Italy. Shortly after receiving his degree, Benvenuto served as the Soccer School Goalkeeper Technical Director for the Bologna Football Club.

Benvenuto has spent a majority of his professional career coaching youth soccer teams ranging from 8- to 19-years-old. Most recently, he served as the first team goalkeeper coach assistant for the Montreal Impact in Quebec, Canada. As goalkeeper coach for the Miami FC, Benvenuto will be responsible for teaching club goalkeepers the technical competencies, skills and responsibilities of the position.

"It's truly a pleasure to work alongside this coaching staff," Benvenuto said. "I have high hopes for this team and I'm ready to get Vega and Sierra in shape for our opening season."

Rubinacci joins the Miami FC from Trapani Calcio of the Italian Serie B, where he has been an assistant coach since 2014. Rubinacci has spent most of his recent career in the Italian Serie A and Serie B leagues coaching a number of teams including A.C. Perugia, A.C. Siena, Catania Calcio, U.S. Lecce, and Pescara Calcio.  

Originally from Urbino, Italy, Rubinacci kicked off his professional coaching career in 1996 as the head coach of Fano Calcio and worked mostly with Italian youth leagues up to 2010 with stints in Romania and Gambia. From 1999 to 2001, Rubinacci was head coach of Romanian Serie B teams UTA Arad and Politimisoara, respectively. He also led the U-20 National Team Gambia Africa from 2007-2008 as head coach. Rubinacci speaks three languages and will be a valuable addition to Miami FC's technical staff.

"Miami FC is a new experience and I'm truly grateful to be able to work with these passionate players that are dedicated to advancing soccer in the United States," said Rubinacci.

The technical staff will work closely with the thirteen players that have been officially been signed to the Miami FC as preseason training kicked off earlier this January.
