The team has never missed the playoffs four years in a row in its 29-year history and that trend will continue. It's the first time the Mets have won the second half of the division since 2007.
The Mets will host the Bradenton Marauders at Tradition Field on Tuesday for game 1 of the South Division Series. It will be a best 2-out-of-3. First pitch on Tuesday is 6:30 p.m. Playoff tickets are available only in person at the box office beginning Saturday noon.
On Friday, the Mets pounded out 14 hits. David Thompson hit a solo home run in the seventh inning and then jacked a two-run homer in the eighth to put the game away.
