PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (May 17, 2015) - Three St. Lucie pitchers combined to shut out the Charlotte Stone Crabs in the Mets' 4-0 win on Sunday at Tradition Field.

Kevin McGowan gave up just two hits in six innings to earn his second win. He pitched around a leadoff double in the sixth to preserve a 1-0 lead.

All four runs the Mets scored were unearned thanks to three Stone Crabs errors.

The Mets took two out of three in the series. It's their first series victory since winning two of three vs. Fort Myers from April 23-25.

The Mets broke a scoreless tie in the fifth. Amed Rosario led off the inning with a single against German Marquez. A pair of ground out moved Rosario to third and he scored when Colton Plaia's routine ground ball to short stop Willy Adames was bobbled.

McGowan gave up the leadoff double in the sixth, then Alexander Simon reached on an error. A sac bunt moved runners to second and third, but McGowan buckled down to strike out Juniel Querecuto and get Adames to line out to end the threat.

Mike Hepple pitched around a two out single in the seventh. Akeel Morris tossed a perfect eighth.

In the bottom of the eighth the Mets scored three insurance runs. Errors by Adames and Querecuto on the left side of the infield helped the cause. Maikis De La Cruz and Phil Evans had RBI singles.

Morris worked a perfect ninth to end the game.

Rosario collected his third two-hit game in a row. Michael Conforto hit two doubles. He now has five doubles in his last five games.

Marquez took the loss for the Stone Crabs. He gave up one unearned run in six innings.

A night after belting out 17 hits, the Crabs could only muster three on Sunday.

The Mets (16-21) will try for their first winning streak since April 24-25 when they travel to Roger Dean Stadium to play the Palm Beach Cardinals on Monday. The game is at 10:35 a.m. and can be heard on www.stluciemets.com with the Voice of the Mets, Adam MacDonald.
