Merrill allocated to Mississippi HardHats of WBA

Atlanta, GA - The World Basketball Association and Commissioner Mike Glenn announces that Oklahoma Christian University forward Jarred Merrill has been allocated to the Mississippi HardHats. Merrill was recently announced the 2005 NAIA Division I Player of the Year. The 6-9 Merrill led the Eagles to a 27-7 record, the Sooner Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the Sweet Sixteen of the NAIA National Tournament. The two-time NAIA All-American first teamer ranks as the SAC scoring champion, the NAIA's No. 2 scorer (24.1 ppg.) and rebounder (10.47). The Abilene, Texas native has compiled an impressive collection of honors and achievements. He is the SAC and Oklahoma Christian career scoring leader with 2,189 points. Additionally, Merrill set six other school records. They are single season scoring (821), career field goals attempted (1,487), career free throws made (650), season free throws made (259), career free throws attempted (795) and season free throws attempted (311). He tied the OC record of 59 career double-doubles (points and scoring) held by former OC All-American Cory Cole. This season Merrill scored 30 points or more nine times with a career high of 41 points against Azusa Pacific (Calif.) in the NAIA national tournament.
