The Tigers improved to 11-6 with a 58-49 victory on the road at fifth-ranked Hillhouse on February 5th, getting 19 points from Bianca Simmons and 18 points from Rachel Roberts. Amanda Hamilton chipped in with 10 rebounds. Earlier in the week, Roberts had 19 points and eight rebounds while Amber Bepko had 12 points as the Tigers beat West Haven 63-33. Mercy has won five straight heading into this week.

This is the third season the Connecticut Sun has recognized a Team of the Week. Each winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a congratulatory letter from Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault.

The Sun also host a CIAC Championship luncheon, and recognize the four CIAC Class champions during a ceremony at halftime of a regular season game.

The Sun have been one of the most successful teams in the WNBA, qualifying for the playoffs every year since re-locating to Connecticut in 2003. Season ticket plans for 2009 are on sale now and can be reserved by calling a Sun Ticket Sales Representative at 1.877.SUN.TIXX, e-mailing the Sun at tickets@connecticutsun.com or visiting www.connecticutsun.com.
