Memphis 901 FC Extends Win Streak After Defeating Las Vegas 1-0

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Memphis 901 FC extends its win streak after defeating Las Vegas Light SC 1-0 at Cashman Field Saturday night. Trey Muse was named Man of the Match after making critical saves in the final minutes to secure the win.

Memphis and Las Vegas opened up the match exchanging possessions back and forth. The Lights moved into a dangerous position crossing the ball within the box to Danny Musovski who took a shot that was saved by Muse and cleared out of the box.

Memphis took control at the end of the first half, Aaron Molloy took a shot from outside the box in first-half stoppage time looking to put the team ahead before going into the half.

Memphis took the energy from the end of the first into the second as Laurent Kissiedou sent a cross over to Patrick Seagrist as he narrowly missed the back of the net in the 48th minute.

Memphis found the back of the net as Kissiedou sent a ball just outside the box to Jeremy Kelly who took a touch before chipping the ball over the Lights goalkeeper to score the only goal of the match.

Las Vegas began pressing more into the Memphis defending third taking shots trying to even the score again.

The Lights took advantage in the 59th minute taking a shot saved again by Muse.

Memphis made two substitutions in the last 15 minutes of the match to add fresh legs to the field, Chris Allan going in for Goodrum in the 75th minute and Carroll came in for Kelly in the 89th minute.

The Lights fought with urgency in the final minutes of the match, holding possession of the ball in their attacking third. Muse made multiple saves as Las Vegas took deep shots from outside the box. In the 94th minute the Lights took their final attempt to tie up the game, taking a shot from the top right of the box with the ball sailing to the goal line, Muse made his final save of the night securing the win for Memphis.

Memphis 901 FC is on the road Saturday, April 2 vs. Detroit City FC. 901 FC and returns to AutoZone Park on Wednesday, April 13 to take on FC Tulsa at 7 p.m.
