MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Memphis 901 FC defender Wes Charpie earned a spot in the Starting XI on the USL Championship's Team of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Charpie's defensive play was instrumental Sunday helping 901 FC record the first win in club history. He finished with a team-high seven clearances, had four interceptions and recoveries as 901 FC recorded a 1-0 shutout over Bethlehem Steel FC.
Charpie's selection marks back-to-back weeks that a 901 FC player has been honored by the league.
Forward Elliot Collier earned league honors last week after scoring the first goal in club history in Memphis' draw with Loudoun United FC.
Collier and Charpie return to action Friday as Memphis faces New York Red Bulls II at 6:00 p.m. CT at MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field in New Jersey.
Memphis will return home Wednesday, April 10 to face Atlanta United 2 at 7:00 p.m. in a nationally televised match on ESPNews.
