Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks fans are invited to the first-ever "Ref, You Rock" dinner on Tuesday, November 8th at the Grout Museum in downtown Waterloo, the Black Hawks announced Thursday.

The evening will provide a rare opportunity for those in attendance to give their candid feedback directly to the USHL's referees, while being served an unlimited spaghetti dinner by Black Hawks players. In turn, the officials will offer insights on their view from the ice and answer questions about the rules of the game.

"If you've ever wanted to say something to a referee and know that he'll hear you, this is the time," said Waterloo Black Hawks President Doug Miller. "I think that even the fan who knows everything about hockey will learn something new during this event."

In addition to the presentation and dinner, everyone in attendance will also be admitted to "From McElroy Auditorium to Young Arena: The Golden Era of the Black Hawks," the Grout Museum's new exhibit on Waterloo hockey history. A limited number of tickets for "Ref, You Rock" are on sale now for $20 from the Black Hawks box office. The Grout Museum is located at 503 South Street.

Fans can also see USHL officials in pink striped jerseys Saturday for Breast Cancer Awareness Night or in their regular uniforms Friday as the Hawks host the Omaha Lancers and Green Bay Gamblers respectively at Young Arena. Good seats still remain for both matchups and can be purchased online form waterlooblackhawks.com or by calling the box office at (319) 291-7680 after 11:30 AM.
