Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons will wrap up their first week of on-ice practices with a free meet and greet cookout Saturday at Glacier Pointe Ice Complex in Port Huron.
The team invites fans to watch practice from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., before meeting this year's team and enjoying a free cookout. The team's booster club procured much of the food for the cookout through donations by local businesses.
Glacier Pointe is located at 4150 Dove Road in Port Huron.
While the cookout marks the end of the team's first week of on-ice practice, players have been working hard since their arrival to Port Huron August 14. Their first week of training camp consisted solely of off-ice training, including weight training, running and agility training.
Practices will remain free and open to the public next week, when the team will practice on their home ice at McMorran Arena. Glacier Pointe hosted the Fighting Falcons this week while logos were painted and the ice was installed at McMorran.
Some players helped paint the logos of sponsors like Earl Smith Distributing, Physician Healthcare Network and Michael's Car Center after practice on Tuesday night. A few other fans helped out with sponsor logos before the Fighting Falcons staff and their friends and family took on the task of painting the team's logo at center ice.
Season tickets are on sale now for just $150 at the Fighting Falcons office inside McMorran Arena. The team recently introduced the "Stars of Tomorrow" package, which includes a ticket to each of the team's seven biggest promotional nights of the season for $46. The first 200 fans to purchase a "Stars of Tomorrow" package will also receive a free round of golf at Black River Country Club.
For more information about season ticket packages, call the Fighting Falcons office at (810) 966-3800.
