
Medford Can't Hold on in Game Two against Victoria

MEDFORD, OR - The Rogues and the Harbourcats faced off at Harry and David Field for game two of their three game series. Early scoring by Victoria helped on their way to the win, as Medford was unable to score runs late in the game, similar to game one. The Rogues fell to the Harbourcats, 8-2. The Rogues' season record now falls to 13-19 in league play.
Victoria scored four runs in the top of the second inning, jumping ahead of the Rogues 4-0. Medford answered with one run in the bottom of the second and then one more in the third but were unable to plate anymore runs, while Victoria scored four more, including two off a two-run homerun by Ben Polshuk.
T.K. McWhertor led the Rogues at the plate going two for three, with two singles. He also reached base on a walk. His season batting average now is at a healthy .322. Nathan Etheridge was also strong at the plate, with two singles in four at-bats and an RBI. Etheridge's batting average now improves to .227.
Gabe Genter got the start for the Rogues tonight and went 1.2 innings, gave up four runs on five hits and walked one Harbourcat batter. Genter got the loss and now has a season ERA of 7.36. Kade Wagner, Daniel Ferrell and Max Bethell also made appearances on the mound for the Rogues.
Matt Blais was awarded the win for Victoria. Blais went 6 innings, gave up two runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking two. He now has a season ERA of 2.70. Tei Vanderford got the save for the Harbourcats, going three innings, giving up one hit, no runs and struck out one Medford batter. Vanderford's season ERA still remains at 0.0.
The Rogues and the Harbourcats face off again tomorrow night in game three of the series. First pitch is at 6:35pm at Harry and David Field.
