
Medford Beats Gems in Sunday Matinee at Kiger 14-10

Klamath Falls, OR: June 30, 2013 The Gems took the early lead with five runs in the 2nd inning but Medford came back three times and finally took their first lead in the 8th inning, banging out 19 hits, and winning the Sunday matinee at Kiger Stadium 14-10. The Gems offense once again accumulated 12 hits but could not overcome the Rogues largest hit production of the season.
Both starters were knocked out early in the game, as Hector Lujan (University of California Santa Barbara) won in relief for the Rogues, improving to 2-0. Angelo Lingos (University of California Riverside) took his first loss of the season for Klamath Falls. Tyson Dahl (Oregon Tech) and Ryan Hayden (Oregon Tech) lead the Gems offense with two RBI's each, as the Gems fall to 12-10 on the year but remain in 2nd place in the South Division. Medford improves to 9-13.
The next Gems game will be Thursday, July 4th as the Gems host the Bend Elks at Kiger Stadium with the first pitch at 6:35 pm.
