McGowen Hits First Homerun of the Season

After two rained out games, the Strykers hosted the first of two games against the league leading Acadiana Cane Cutters at Strykers Stadium.

The Cane Cutters opened the first inning and took the lead with four runs. The Strykers rose to meet them in the second inning after Ivan Vera's hit scored two runs, shrinking the score gap. Noah McGowen increased the score with the first homerun of the season in the third inning.

By the seventh inning, the Cane Cutters were ahead 6-3, but the Strykers chased after them, driving two more runs to make the score 6-5. In the 9th inning, the Cane Cutters fought to earn another run while the Strykers got runner on second with Vera at the plate. Vera took several pitches, until popping out to right field to end the game. The Strykers fell 7-5 to the Cane Cutters as they look to earn their first win tomorrow night at 7:05pm.
