Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
The Acadiana Cane Cutters won a high-scoring ballgame on the road against the Woodland Strykers 15-8 on Thursday.
Acadiana jumped out to a 10-run lead by the fourth inning before the Strykers were able to put a mark on the scoreboard.
But what appeared to be a blowout early, turned into a much more competitive game when the Strykers put together seven runs in the next two innings, and brought the game to within five.
The offenses slowed down for the remainder of the game and the Strykers were never able to dig themselves out of the 10-point hole dug early on.
Dane Giesler, from Indiana State, led the Cane Cutters in runs with three and joined Kieffer Moore and Trey Jimmerson as the three players with at least three RBI's on the night. Giesler also totaled three hits on four at bats.
Acadiana, now 7-2 on the season, will return home tomorrow night to face the Victoria Generals at 7 p.m. The Cane Cutters won the two previous matchups with the Generals this season.
