McCollum named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Guelph Storm goaltender Thomas McCollum is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 3 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a 0.50 goals against average and .987 save percentage in two starts.

McCollum started the week with a 28 save shutout to back the Storm to a 3-0 road win over the Sarnia Sting on Friday. It was his fourth shutout of the season. He followed up with 46 saves in a 2-1 road win over the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday. McCollum was the first star in both games and helped the Storm win for the eighth time in their past 10 games.

McCollum, an 18-year-old from Sanborn, NY, improved his season record to 18-11-3-3 with a 2.52 goals against average and .913 save percentage in 36 games this season. He was the OHL's top rated goaltending prospect in the mid-term rankings for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
