Spokane Chiefs News Release
More is on the line than just a playoff series as the Spokane Chiefs face the Tri-City Americans in the WHL Western Conference Semi-Finals this weekend in Spokane. The Chiefs are hosting games one and two in the Spokane Arena on Saturday at 7:05 pm and Sunday at 6:05 pm before the series returns to the Tri-Cities for three games next week.
Civic pride is being wagered on these games between Spokane Mayor Verner and Kennewick Mayor Young. If Spokane wins, Mayor Young has agreed to be Mayor Verner's guest at the Spokane Lilac Parade on May 21, 2011. If Tri-City is victorious Mayor Young will host Mayor Verner at the Benton-Franklin Fair Grand Parade in August. The losing Mayor will wear the opposition's jersey in the parade.
"I am looking forward to riding in the Lilac Parade with Mayor Young," says Mayor Verner. "I think he will look terrific in a Chiefs jersey!"
Great seats remain for the home games and are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK (7825), (800) 325-SEAT (7325), through all TicketsWest Outlets or by logging onto www.ticketswest.com
"The bets are on; so, Go Chiefs!"
