Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman has made a bet with Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory for the 2008 Kelly Cup Finals between the Las Vegas Wranglers and Cincinnati Cyclones.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman is known to say that he'll bet on anything, even on which cockroach can run across a room faster, so it's no surprise that he is ready to back the Las Vegas Wranglers in their quest for the Kelly Cup.
"If the mayor of Cincinnati wants to make a bet I'll bet him the Ohio River for the Fremont Street Experience," Mayor Goodman said.
In addition Mayor Goodman said he would agree to wear a Cincinnati Cyclones jersey during an upcoming council meeting if the Cyclones were to win the ECHL national championship, if Mayor Mark Mallory would agree to wear a Wranglers jersey at a council meeting if Las Vegas wins.
The Fremont Street Experience is an entertainment and gaming complex with a 1,500 foot LED canopy that displays light shows nightly.
The championship series opens in Cincinnati Saturday and Sunday nights and shifts to Las Vegas for Games Three and Four on Thursday, May 29 and Friday May 30, respectively. Game Five, if necessary, will be Monday, June 2 in Las Vegas. The series returns to Cincinnati if a sixth or seventh game is needed.
"A Red Sea in Game Three" encourages Wranglers fans to wear red when the series shifts to Las Vegas on Thursday Night.
