Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
BURLINGTON, VT - The Vermont Lake Monsters fundraising program "May Days" concluded with outstanding success this May. May Days, which partnered the Lake Monsters with 47 local non-profits in the Vermont Community to help raise funds for the non-profit, was even more successful than last year. For each ticket sold by the participating non-profit, the Lake Monsters donated three dollars back to the participating group. A total of 1,067 Lake Monster tickets were sold during the fundraiser, amounting to over $3,000 dollars raised by the participating non-profits.
"This year, with the changes we made, we were able to offer the program to more organizations than in the past, as well as allowing them a longer period to sell," Lake Monsters Box Office Manager Adam Matth said. "Therefore we were not only able to reach out to more members of our community, but also give more back to them as well."
The Vermont Lake Monsters would like to congratulate the Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP) on selling the most tickets during the 2012 May Days fundraiser for local non-profits. JUMP, a Burlington Interfaith Community Non-profit organization, was able to sell 143 total tickets.
"The Joint Urban Ministry Project 'jumped' at the opportunity to partner with the Vermont Lake Monsters in their May Days offer," JUMP staff member Jean Palmer said. "Because JUMP is comprised of volunteers from 26 area faith communities, we seldom get a chance to all get together. A baseball game seemed like a lot of fun and a great way for our supporters to raise money to give financial assistance to low-income Vermonters...Thank you to the Vermont Lake Monsters for this creative partnering opportunity!"
Each organization that participated in the fundraiser will be recognized at the game to which it sold tickets, being honored with a check presentation before the game. To stay on top of all the Lake Monsters action this summer, visit www.vermontlakemonsters.com.
