Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba -- This Wednesday, May 6th will be a special day across Canada as McDonald's Restaurants will be celebrating its 17th McHappy Day.
McHappy Day brings together employees, customers, suppliers and local personalities in an effort to raise money to help children in need across Canada. Among the local personalities participating in Wednesday's special day will be members of the Brandon Wheat Kings' organization, including assistant coach Dwayne Gylywoychuk.
Gylywoychuk and others will be working alongside McDonald's crew members, creating a special community event and unique fundraising initiative.
On this year's McHappy Day, one dollar from the sale of every McMuffin® sandwich, Big Mac® sandwich and Happy Meal® will be donated to local children's charities.
Local personalities will be working at Brandon's four McDonald's Restaurant locations - Richmond and Victoria Avenues, the Trans Canada Highway as well as in Walmart.
During last year's successful event, communities came together to raise over $3 million for local children's charities. These funds will benefit more than 170 children's charities across Canada, helping to support thousands of children in need.
Since McHappy Day was introduced in 1977, this unique, national one-day fundraising event has raised more than $26 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Canada, the Canadian Ronald McDonald House® Program and local children's charities across Canada.
