INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks kicked off an eight-game home stand with a 0-2-0-1 weekend against the Indy Fuel and Florida Everblades.

Schiavo's Scores

John Schiavo enters play this week having scored a goal in back-to-back games, tickling the twine against Indy on Saturday and Florida on Sunday. Prior to this recent stretch, the East Patchogue, New York native had just one goal in his ECHL career. The forward's score on Sunday put KC up by a 2-0 score.

Home Stand Continues

The Mavericks continue their season-long eight-game home stand with a Friday-Saturday double-header against Allen, Friday's game at 7:05 and Saturday's at 7:35. The Mavericks are 2-2-0-0 against the Americans on the year, 1-1 at home and 1-1 on the road.

Stacking Goalies

The Mavericks have set a franchise record with seven goalies occupying the blue paint this season. Currently on the roster are Adam Carlson, Washington capitals prospect, and Mavric Parks who was added to the roster on Thursday. Tyler Parsons, Mason McDonald, Chris Nell, Kent Patterson and Kent Nusbaum all have also played between the pipes this season for the Mavericks.

Where We Stand

The Mavericks enter this week five points out of playoff position, trailing fourth-place Kalamazoo in the Central Division standings. The Wings also own a game in hand on KC. The Mavericks will look to get back into the win column this week, having dropped eight in a row with only one point over that span.

This Week's Promo Schedule

Friday - First Responders Night

Join the Mavericks in saluting first responders as the team takes on Allen Friday at 7:05 p.m. The game will feature a broom ball contest between the Independence fire and police departments as they battle it out to see who this year's champion will be.

Saturday - Cheeze's Princess Party

Cheeze is hosting her annual princess party Saturday at 7:35 p.m. The Mavericks will have a tiara giveaway for the first 1,000 fans in attendance and the game will feature a live unicorn on the concourse.
