Mavericks Re-Sign Sebastien Thinel

Independence, Missouri - July 7, 2014 -- The Missouri Mavericks announced Monday afternoon that they have re-signed veteran forward, Sebastien Thinel, to a standard player contract.

"Sebby is excited to return and anxious to win his first championship," said Brent Thiessen, Missouri Mavericks President & General Manager upon announcing the return of the Thinel to the Mavs' lineup.

Thinel has been with the Mavericks for the past three years, accumulating 75 goals, and 197 assists through 196 games. He holds 2nd in all-time Central Hockey League assists (609) and 3rd in all-time CHL points (919), having eclipsed his 900th point this season with the Mavs. The 6'1" St. Jerome, Quebec native claimed the CHL Most Valuable Player Award for the 2012-13 and 2008-09 seasons.

"Over the last three years, Thinel has averaged 25 goals and over 90 points; he is a true talent and a fan-favorite," said Richard Matvichuk, Missouri Mavericks Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "Sebastien and his family have been embraced by this community, and after my conversations with him I know he has one goal, to return the favor by bringing the City of Independence and surrounding area a championship."
