
Mavericks Fall to Rush 4-3

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks undefeated season streak has ended at 8-0-0 with a loss Friday night 4-3 to the Rapid City Rush.
The Rush were the first to put a point on the board at the end of the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the second twenty minutes of play when they scored again at the top of the period to take a 2-0 jump on the Mavericks. Missouri fought through four short-handed situations in the second period with fantastic efforts by John-Scott Dickson and Shane Owen.
The Mavericks made their big comeback in the third period, first with a power play goal by Eric Castonguay followed by a rapid power play goal from Andrew Courtney to tie the game at 2-2. Then Obi Aduba, rushing from the box, set up Anders Franzon to score a defining short-handed goal and push the Mavericks ahead 3-2 with ten minutes left in the period.
The Rush fought back in the last five minutes with a power play goal to tie the game 3-3 and seal the deal less than a minute later and take the game 4-3.
The Mavericks play their next game on Saturday, November 16 on the road in Rapid City versus the Rapid City Rush at 8:05pm. The Mavericks return home on November 22nd to face the St. Charles Chill in their second game of the Show Me Cup series. With season tickets starting at just over $11 per game and FREE parking, the Mavericks are the pinnacle of family affordable entertainment.
