Kansas City Mavericks News Release
INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - The Missouri Mavericks announced the addition of three players to their roster on Saturday afternoon ahead of Game 2 in the Western Conference Semifinals of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Defenseman Pat Cullity, goaltender Parker Milner and left wing Ross Johnston will all make their return to the Mavericks roster Saturday evening against the Allen Americans at 7:05p.m.
Pat Cullity, Parker Milner, and Ross Johnston will return to the Missouri Mavericks lineup Saturday night for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Cullity was signed to the Missouri Mavericks ahead of the 2015-16 season. The twenty-nine year old veteran defenseman played 33 games for the Mavericks between call-ups to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers-the Mavericks American Hockey League affiliate.
Milner finished the 2015-16 regular-season with the Mavericks with a 2.17 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage, ranked sixth overall in the ECHL. The Pittsburgh, PA native already has one Mavericks playoff win in-hand from his Apr. 17 start against the Quad City Mallards-- before he was called-up to Bridgeport on Apr. 19.
Johnston, a rookie left-winger from Charlotteltown, PEI, CA became the first former Missouri Mavericks player to ever make an NHL debut just twenty days ago on Apr. 10. Johnston played 13 games with the Mavs this season during the longest home stand in team history, Feb. 6 through Feb. 28, scoring 4 goals and 7 assists. He is the 599th player in ECHL history to go on to play in the NHL, making a rare ECHL to NHL transition in the course of one season. The Mavericks are in their first year of their formal affiliation with the New York Islanders (NHL) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL).
The Mavericks will drop the puck in Game 2 against the Allen Americans at 7:05p.m. on Saturday evening at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.
Fans are invited to attend a free tailgate event on the Southeast arena lawn from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. featuring craft beer, Orange Army cocktails, and $5 grill specials from Red Robin. The first 200 fans to make a food or beverage purchase get a limited edition Playoff Rally Towel! The Henry J. Brabham Cup (regular-season point champion trophy) will be featured with an original ice sculpture-the perfect playoffs photo op! The first 500 fans in attendance to the pregame tailgate party will receive a coupon for 50% off a Papa John's Pizza. Join Mac, the Filly's and the Mavs staff to get the party started-presented by County Beverage, 360 Vodka, and Red Bull.
