Matt Dalton Re-Assigned To Reading

Reading Royals News Release


Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Matt Dalton has been re-assigned by the Boston Bruins to the Royals. In a separate transaction, forward Matt Marquardt has been recalled by Boston. Also, in another transaction, the Royals also released goaltender Jeff MacDougald from his Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Dalton, a first year pro from Clinton, Ontario, was recalled by Boston on an emergency basis on February 24, 2010. He has played 36 games for the Royals and compiled a record of 16-18-0-2 with a goals against average of 3.54 and save percentage of.905. Marquardt played nine games for the Royals, scoring one goal and assisting on three others. MacDougald got his first pro experience last Saturday night against the Trenton Devils, when he played the last 7:09 in Reading's 7-1 loss to the Devils. MacDougald made three stops on five shots that night.

The Royals return to action tonight (Tuesday, March 7, 2010 @ 7:00 pm) when the team travels to Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey to take on the Trenton Devils. The Royals game night radio broadcast on the Royals' Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off at 6:30 pm.
