
Utah's Sixsmith Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. -James Sixsmith of the Utah Grizzlies is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 22-28.
The 25 year old scored nine points (2g-7a) including his second four-point game of the season in a 5-4 win against Stockton on Feb. 23 when he tallied one goal and three assists. He recorded his fourth multi-point game of the month on Feb. 26 with three points (1g-2a) in a 7-3 loss at Ontario.
Sixsmith currently has a nine-game point streak (6g-11a) which began on Feb. 12 when he recorded one assist to help the Grizzlies beat Idaho 4-3. He also has a seven-game point streak on the road since Nov. 13 when he had two points (1g-1a) in Utah's 5-3 win at Las Vegas.
The Alexandria, Va. native has amassed 85 points (32g-53) in 78 regular-season games with Cincinnati and Utah recording four points (3g-1a) and six penalty minutes in three Kelly Cup Playoff games with Utah in 2009.
Sixsmith has seen action in 87 games with Bridgeport and Milwaukee of the American Hockey League garnering 23 points (10g-13a) and 27 penalty minutes from 2006-2010. He also suited up for one playoff game with Milwaukee in 2008.
Prior to turning pro, Sixsmith played four seasons at Holy Cross College from 2003-2007 accruing 152 points (48g-104a) in 142 games.
On behalf of James Sixsmith, a case of pucks will be donated to a Utah youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 23,100 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
