Ontario's Darling Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Curtis Darling of the Ontario Reign is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 22-28.
He also received the honor for the week of Nov 2-8, 2009 and is currently featured in the Winter Issue of Goalies World.
The 26 year old went 3-0-0 with 76 saves, a goals-against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of.950. Darling allowed only four goals to Utah in back-to-back wins on Feb. 26 and 27 before stopping all 20 shots he faced to earn his third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win against Bakersfield on Feb. 28.
Darling is 20-20-6 with three shutouts, a 2.76 goals-against average and a.912 save percentage in 47 games this season with Ontario. Darling leads the ECHL with 2,779 minutes played and 1,331 saves. His 20 wins ties him for second in the ECHL and his.912 save percentage ranks third.
The Calgary, Alberta native has appeared in 133 regular-season games going 51-62-15 with six shutouts, a goals-against average of 3.19 and a save percentage of.906 with Reading, Charlotte, Wheeling and Ontario since 2006. He saw action in seven games during the 2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Wheeling where he posted a record of 3-3-1 with one shutout, a 2.23 goals-against average and a.942 save percentage.
Darling played one game apiece for Manchester and Syracuse of the American Hockey League in 2007-08. He stopped all 16 shots he faced over those two games in 47 minutes of play.
