Sacramento Republic FC will host West Bromwich Albion on Friday, July 25 in the Second Annual Sacramento Soccer Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Bonney Field.
The match is the second of two friendly matches between Republic FC and West Bromwich Albion. The first friendly between the two sides took place on Monday, July 21. The match ended in a 1-0 West Bromwich Albion victory with the only score coming from a 13th minute penalty kick.
This is the fourth match in nine days for Republic FC and their third straight friendly match. Republic FC will play again on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in USL PRO play. Republic FC will look to overtake LA Galaxy II for the third spot and gain ground on the Richmond Kickers for second place in the USL PRO standings.
This will be the final friendly match in America for West Bromwich Albion this season. West Bromwich will head back to England following the match in preparations for their English Premier League campaign, which begins on August 16.
While on their trip to Sacramento, West Bromwich Albion received defender Andre Wisdom on loan from Liverpool. Wisdom joined West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night and may be featured in the match on Friday.
Also while in Sacramento West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster, a member of the English National Team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, signed a new four-year contract with West Bromwich Albion. Foster has appeared in over 50 matches for West Bromwich over the last two years.
The match is a part of the second annual Sacramento Soccer Day. Festivities for Sacramento Soccer Day include a Futures Match featuring some of the region's up-and-coming men's players and prematch recognition of the region's championship teams.
