North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, NC (July 16, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks (1W-1D-1L, 4pts.) will host the San Antonio Scorpions (1W-1D-1L, 4pts.) at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, July 18th at 7:30 pm ET.

The RailHawks currently sit in third place in the NASL fall season standings with four points. The Scorpions are sixth in the standings with four points as well, but the Scorpions have a negative goal difference.

The RailHawks will be looking to bounce back from a hard-fought loss in their last match on the road against Indy Eleven. The squad had a dominant first half and got on the scoreboard first with a beautiful header from Austin da Luz. The RailHawks generated plenty of chances in the second half but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Indy was able to score two goals in the final 45 minutes and ultimately won the match 2-1.

The San Antonio Scorpions are the reigning NASL champions and are coming off a strong performance against FC Edmonton in a 2-2 draw at home. Forward Omar Cummings scored the first goal of the match for the home side after netting two goals in the previous match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Jamaican striker formerly played for MLS' Colorado Rapids and has had a fantastic season for the Scorpions. He leads the NASL in goals scored with eight and has added two assists in his 13 games played.
