HARRISON, N.J. (March 22, 2022) - New York Red Bulls II (1-2-0, 3 points) will host Louisville City FC (2-0-0, 6 points) on Wednesday, March 23. Kickoff at MSU Soccer Park is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
The match will conclude a stretch for New York in which it plays four matches in the opening 12 days of the season. Red Bulls II fell in its last match, 3-0, to Loudoun United FC on Saturday, March 19, in the 2022 home opener.
New York and Louisville will meet for the 14th time in their history, but Wednesday will mark the first match between them since September of 2019. Four of the last five meetings have featured six or more combined goals, including the most recent meeting that was taken by Louisville, 5-3.
Louisville enters the match 2-0-0, ranking third in the Eastern Conference. They played two mutual opponents of New York to begin the season, defeating Atlanta United 2, 1-0, and Miami FC, 2-0. They are one of only two teams in the league to not concede a goal so far this season, with Loudoun being the other.
The two clubs rank one and two in USL Championship in shots, with Louisville having the slight edge 40 to 39. New York has the league's saves leader in goalkeeper AJ Marcucci.
Following the match, New York will travel to face FC Tulsa on Saturday, April 2. Kickoff from ONEOK Field is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
