Atlanta United 2 last played June 16 against Ottawa Fury FC, but the match was suspended due to inclement weather with a 1-1 score in the 44th minute. The match will resume at a future date in the 44th minute with a score of 1-1. The night began with a 3-hour weather delay and kicked-off shortly after 10 p.m., but ATL UTD 2 started fast and scored in the third minute after Andrew Carleton gathered a long diagonal pass from Oliver Shannon on the left side of Ottawa's 18-yard-box. The 17-year-old Homegrown created space in a one-on-one situation and attempted to send in a low cross, but the ball was redirected by Fury FC defender Eddie Edward for an own-goal. Ottawa, however, equalized in the 10th minute when Jamar Dixon played Kevin Oliveira in behind Atlanta's defense to tie the match.
Nashville SC lost 2-0 to Indy Eleven Tuesday, June 26 to drop its first home match this season. The result snapped an eight-match unbeaten run for Nashville. Karl Ouimette and Justin Braun each scored in the first half to improve Indy's road record to 4-1-2.
Saturday marks the first meeting between ATL UTD 2 and Nashville SC. Atlanta's First Team played Nashville February 10 during preseason. Nashville is 4-1-1 at home.
