Valour FC News Release

Valour rode the emotional roller-coaster in their last match against Cavalry FC in Calgary, a 2-1 loss in which they surrendered the first goal in the 85th minute, rallied to tie it for minutes later, almost won it immediately thereafter before surrendering the game- winning goal in extra time.

Bolstered by the return to health of some key pieces, with Brett Levis, Andrew Jean-Baptiste and Sean Rea all practising this week, Valour now heads west for a battle with defending CPL-champion Pacific FC.

Here's how tight the CPL standings are - a victory in Victoria would propel Valour into a tie for second place, while even a point would move them into a tie for fourth and the final playoff spot. Currently just three points separate six teams in the tables.

#17 MF/FB: BRETT LEVIS

He's a versatile and veteran presence on and off the pitch for Valour and the club could use some of that right now. He can play in the middle of the park - his goal against Atlético Ottawa last month from that spot was a thing of beauty -- but is also capable of playing left back and the team's back line depth has been thin of late.

Pacific FC has 10 wins, one draw and one loss in 12 matches vs. Valour since the CPL's inception in 2019. That lone Valour win came in the league debut for both teams on May 1, 2019. A telling statistic in Pacific's success: they have scored at least two goals in 11 straight matches vs. Valour and three goals in each of the last four meetings dating back to last season. In all, Pacific has averaged 2.25 goals per match against Valour since 2019.
