Atlético Ottawa spends the long weekend on the road with two matches in this last stretch of the regular season, with a first stop when it visits York United on Friday, October 8 (KO 7:30PM ET, live on OneSoccer).
MATCH NOTES
This is the fourth of five clashes between the two clubs this season, which has proven to be a pretty levelled affair so far with Ottawa tying two of the last three, for an all-time record of 0W-3D-1L.
The last time the two sides faced off was on September 14, at York United, when the home team secured a 2-0 win over Atlético Ottawa.
York United has not lost in its last 6 matches and is coming off a 2-2 draw against Halifax over the weekend.
If it seems more improbable for Atlético Ottawa to make the playoffs, it is still very possible it could play the trouble-makers with a number of its opponents, starting with York United, who is currently sitting in fourth going into the weekend but is being chased by Halifax and Valour, two clubs Ottawa will see once more before season end.
Speaking with the media earlier this week, Head Coach Mista shared that he is expecting his team to continue the progress it had shown during the past months, looking for them to erase the sour taste of the latest loss and establish a strong foundation for the future of this club (listen in pre-match comments below).
