Atlético Ottawa made its first stop of the weekend to visit York United on Friday evening, looking for a first road victory of the season. It was almost a perfect night for the Ottléti who saw a convincing lead evaporate in second-half added time to close out the night on a 1-1 draw.

MATCH NOTES

Atlético Ottawa started the match strong, creating a number of chances in the first 45-minutes of play. Ottawa maintained over 52% of the possession, winning 54% of its duels, securing 4 corners and 7 shots, 2 of which were golden opportunities that Ryan Telfer surprisingly couldn't convert. The two sides would go into the break tied at 0-0.

GK Dylon Powley also faced 7 shots in the first half, 3 of them on target, and he stood his ground making 4 saves, keeping his side in the match.

Telfer was causing all sorts of trouble for the York United defensive unit, carving out 4 shots of his own, two of them being on one-on-ones that turned out to be great saves by the York keeper.

The Atléti came out of the break ready to go, and the creativity of Ryan Telfer in the final third granted Ottawa a kick from the spot, converted by Malcolm Shaw (49'), and giving the visitors a 1-0 lead to defend for the rest of the match.

GK Powley continued his stellar play, turning away most of York United's attempts, keeping the clean sheet all the way through the second-half stoppage time. He finished the evening with 6 saves after facing a total of 16 shots and 9 corners.
