STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC hosts Forward Madison FC this Saturday, May 29 at Erk Russell Park in Statesboro, Georgia for Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The match is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m ET as the birds battle it out for three points and a chance to elevate their position in the USL League One standings.

Last weekend, Tormenta FC's hard fought battle against Greenville Triumph SC left them with the confidence that they can compete with the number one seed in the league. Deadlocked at 0-0 for 70 minutes of play, Tormenta FC found themselves with numerous chances on goal and one unlucky shot that found the crossbar.

With sights now set on a win against Forward Madison, Tormenta will be looking for redemption from its previous 4-0 loss against the flamingos in 2020. Looking to snap its loss streak, Tormenta FC heads into its seventh 2021 USL League One matchup, looking for another goal scoring breakthrough.

Raheem Somersall made his club debut last Saturday and brought the energy Tormenta FC has been looking for. The former FC Tucson captain showed his speed and played a crucial role in breaking up the Triumph's defense to offense transitions. Now that former Charleston Battery Vincenzo Candela is eligible for play this weekend, the two are sure to cause problems in the midfield.

Forward Madison FC kicked off their USL League One campaign with a 1-1 draw against Tucson FC, a 1-0 win over North Carolina FC and most recently a 1-0 victory over Union Omaha earlier this week. A key Madison player to watch is forward Derek Gebhard who scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time against North Carolina FC. His explosive speed caught the Carolina defense off guard as fatigue set in late in the game.

Following tomorrow's matchup, the Statesboro squad will host their first matchup against the Chattanooga Red Wolves this season on June 5 at 8 pm ET for Pride Night.
