South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC takes the road for a third consecutive match and now travels to Charlotte, North Carolina, ahead of its Week 23 fixture against Charlotte Independence FC this Wednesday, Aug. 31, at American Legion Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. ET. For the final time this season, Tormenta FC takes on the Independence in dire need of its first win against the Charlotte side.
The Independence won its first game against South Georgia earlier this month at Erk Russell Park. Meanwhile, South Georgia looks for a win to continue climbing up the League One table in the final stages of the regular season.
In a battle between sixth and seventh in the current standings, South Georgia looks to build on Saturday's victory against Central Valley Fuego FC. South Georgia now faces the Independence, who threaten South Georgia's playoff aspirations.
Last Saturday, Tormenta FC reintroduced itself to the win column following an 0-2 win on the road against Central Valley. In Kazaiah Sterling's first start of the month, the London native found his seventh and eighth goals of the season to hand Fresno its second consecutive defeat to South Georgia at Fresno State Soccer Stadium.
Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Single-match tickets are live for advance purchase ahead of Saturday's match. Supporters can also purchase season memberships or Flex Ticket packages to guarantee their presence at every home match this season.
